Week 48

Spring nationals wraps up this week in the United States. Many other countries also host their spring national championships this time of year, showing the importance of late season racing for long-term development. If your race season has finished for the year we encourage you to continue to take advantage of spring skiing if you have the opportunity.

This week the masters plan is a great example of a spring intensity week to help athletes build fitness form one season to the next AND prepare for late season races. If you have already transitioned to dry-land modalities the junior plan is a perfect guide this week. Feel free to replace any ski training recommendations with running or cycling but proceed with caution and reduce total volume and intensity. Check out our top 4 leg exercises to stay injury free this running season.

Dr. Sarah Willis continues her series on physiological adaptations to help us better understand how we can improve our training next year. This week she explains how the body improves its oxygen carrying abilities.
