This week we recommend another hybrid style training week. One that focuses on recovery, particularly in the beginning of the week, since we have been in a good two week block of solid training. After a little break from volume and intensity we recommend a time trial or race effort on the weekend. We are transitioning into a phase of more intensity and there is no better way to log quality L4 than drying a race! If there is a rollerski time trial available that's great! A running time trial or 3,000 can work too but I recommend a more ski specific mode when possible along with a 'ski race appropriate' distance.
NOTES:
- Feel free to take volume out of the first half of the week for more recovery. Number of hours is not particular important for the week. Our goal is to build in some recovery, then hit a hard TT L4 effort.
- Since we are trying to lighten up the first half of the week you will notice there are only 10 x 10 seconds recommend during the speed session.
- Tuesday's easy distance skate is a prefect time to work on individual needs. Technique, video, one pole, agility, balance. Use these sessions to hone in skills, not just punching the clock.
