This week we reduce total training volume as we shift our focus toward more high intensity sessions this month. In a year long training cycle it's common to focus on intensity in October, then build up more easy distance training hours in November as we transition to snow.
This week we outline one of our favorite sessions, L3 intervals with fast finishes. We also recommend some specific strength work and a power-based skate speed session. As always, in the fall we want to make sure our easy distance days are primarily L1 paced so we can bring good energy to interval and speed reps. This will be our last week in the Max Strength Phase 2, and we will start a new power based plan next week.
