Week 29

Here is a rundown of our current periodization and where we are headed:
Last week was a Recovery week. This week will be a medium week with a mix of volume and intensity. Week 30 will be an intensity week. Week 31 will be a volume week.

The next three weeks should be a really solid block of training with different focuses for each week. We stray from our typical easy, medium, hard, 3 week progression for a few reasons. First, we are trying to add in some new training stimulus before tapering things back slightly in December. Second, week 31 is Thanksgiving week! A time of year when skiers around the country will dedicate more hours to training. It just wouldn't be Thanksgiving week without a volume focus.

This week we continue with medium volume but nothing crazy. It should just feel like good steady training, which is exactly what we need in November.

If you are still in dryland mode all of these workouts can be done on rollerskis or on foot. If you are in a transitional period try to think about which workouts would be best suited for snow or rollerskis.

Notes:
- If you have the option to ski or rollerski for speed sessions make sure your on snow conditions are suitable for speed training or substitute with roller skiing or foot speeds

- Watch the early season transition practice video for ideas on Friday's workout

- L3 1 pole skiing is a fun challenge. Keep the pace reasonable and the interval on-time conservative to adjust to this new session.
