We have a saying in skiing 'you can't get fitter in a week but you can fine tune' and if you are a Birkie racer this year this is exactly what you should be thinking about this week.
I encourage skiers to listen to their bodies this week and keep that saying in mind. Think about what you personally need to fine tune, whether that is speed, a specific technique, but also realize that striving for big strength and fitness gains in just 6 days in unlikely.
This week the Birkie plan wraps up with a taper and race prep week.
In the General NTS plan we focus on quality training with a great mid season short interval pyramid, Specific strength, solid gym sessions, and a race or TT effort.
