Week 4

Week 4 is categorized as a hard week as we continue to build into consistent training loads. To add to the intensity of the week we recommend a baseline strength test, check out the 2020 NTS strength test protocol. 

Tuesday's double pole speeds can be done on classic rollerskis but also on skate gear for those athletes who focus primarily freestyle technique. The same technique cues and dills are perfect for bringing the hips into a high position for V2. 

We have one L3 interval session planned this week with moderate on-time. At this point we are still focusing on shorter interval duration while we get adjusted to rollerskis. Use this L3 session as an opportunity to work on symmetrical skate pushes in V1 and V2. 

This week we added a second strength day to mix up May strength as folks transition into gym access. Continue to use May strength and May strength day 2 for the remainder of the month.
