Week 4

This week NTS is coming to you from Bend OR. Look for updates next week on specific training ideas and drills from this collaborative training camp between BSF, SVSEF, SMST2, and the US Ski Team

By now we should feel like we are settling into the daily training routine. It is common for your body and muscles feel sore and stiff after intense workouts and strength routines this time of year so make sure to keep up with stretching, mobility, and yoga. This week our main focus is building base L1 efficiency with easy distance training. We kick off our first ski specific speed session and recommend some controlled threshold intervals. This L3 session can be done on roller skis or on snow. If you would prefer to prioritize a cross-training mode like running or cycling for these intervals that's great too. Remember, we start conservative with our recommended L3 interval on-time in May so we have room to build on our base in June and July. (See L3 Threshold interval on-time explained)
