Welcome to week 39 and the start of our 2023 Birkie prep plan. For the next 6 weeks the master plan will incorporate a training block phase and taper phase to prepare athletes for longer marathon style races. The junior plan continues to focus on steady training, using mid week sessions to build threshold efficiency and weekends to practice race scenarios or to participate in local races. The elite plan builds in a small amount of recovery while we enter a short base building phase which will help athletes carry fitness through the remainder of the competition season.
