Week 37

After some race starts or quality intervals last week, this week we want to focus on steady training while prioritizing easy L1 skiing, specific strength, and one L3 session.
It can be easy to have our easy skiing pace creep higher and higher into our L2 during the winter. Try your best not to let this happen on weeks like this. If you identify a session that you would like to keep L1 try skiing smaller loops on more gradual terrain or avoid big climbs at your local ski area. Even in the winter we still need to make the easy days easy so the hard days can be hard.

It's ok to utilize some L2 skiing on Tuesday's specific strength workout while doing double pole hill repeats. Our L3 recommendation is a common July to August session that we have recommended before. Try to keep the first 6.5 minutes of each interval controlled L3 (3-6 mmol) then have a distinct fast change of pace for a 30 second sprint at the end. Notes:

- With no races planned this week we will incorporate a power based maintenance strength routine and strength based plan. Skiers that have not lifted in a while could experience some soreness from these plans so start light and build into it.

- Use easy distance days to focus on technique, these are great opportunities to use technique drill from our library
