What to Say - Coaches Challenge

Jessie Diggins has used her new book Brave Enough as a platform to talk about eating disorders in athletics. Statistically, athletes have a significantly greater chance of developing an eating disorder than the non-athlete population. In fact, research suggests that athletes are about three times more likely to develop an eating disorder than non-athletes.

Eating disorders in cross country skiing has been a hot topic for the media in Norway and Sweden during recent years. A heightened awareness to the problem is great as long as coaches know the correct way to discuss eating and body image topics with the athletes they work with.
