After having the last two weeks very easy we will step things up in week 51 and add in some more quality training. Our goal this week is to get the body used to various cross-training modes, incorporate some short L4 intensity, and continue with 2 at home general strength preparation routines.
As we mentioned last week our Masters, Junior, and Elite training plans will be synonymous to close out the training year but starting April 27th we will begin our new training year with specific plans!
Notes:
- This week has a few light double session days designed to get our bodies in the routine of consistent training
- The L4 session is designed to be short and to the point. Have fun with it and enjoy using a training mode that sounds most interesting!
- During one distance session this week incorporate 10 x 10 second speeds throughout the session. These DO NOT need to be all out speeds. If running or biking use these speeds as a way to increase your tempo and work on technique.
- As you can see we don't prescribe any specific rollerski workouts in April. If you feel like rollerskiing is a good option for you go for it! We like to think of April as a 'fair weather' training month. Meaning, do what makes the most sense for the day. If it's a beautiful day outside take advantage of it and increase your training volume on those days and enjoy modes that are most convenient. If its pouring rain outside don't be afraid to put the feet up and relax.
