week 36

What are you training for? This question has new meaning to many skiers this year as our competition season is disrupted by COVID. We believe that ski racing is a process that must be refined and practiced regardless of whether or not sanctioned ski races are happening in your region. This week we recommend a 'race' week complete with race preparation intervals and back to back competitions (or time trials).
Some athletes are fortunate enough to have official races to attend while others must get more creative. Preparing for race efforts however is something that everyone can do and is a crucial building block in improving our aerobic fitness and helping us improve as athletes... no matter what the age.

This week we recommend two hard race-style efforts with an in-season style interval pyramid to rev up the engines. Practice getting into the race mode, be aware of how your body feels, take notes on your preparation, and execute your race plan.

NOTES
- Our race or TT recommendations are different depending on the plan.

- We will continue with one more week of velocity based strength before posting the January and in-season general strength and maintenance plans next week.
