In week 3 of the training year we continue to introduce more training modes by easing into a few rollerski sessions. We replace one strength session with the NTS strength test to set a baseline for future tests later in the prep period. Our interval recommendation can be done running or hiking. This L4 interval session is designed to be short and sweat. We want to briefly touch on L4 while building leg speed and running efficiency that will carry us through the summer. After this week the majority of our intensity will shift to controlled longer L3 days. We use these early interval sessions to boost our V02max in specific modes and help bridge our fitness into the new training year before focusing mainly on threshold training.
