This week the masters training plan transitions into the taper phase of our peaking plan. The elite plan, which primarily focuses on SuperTour racing, will incorporate a condensed recovery, training block, and taper phase before the Birkie marathon. The junior plan bumps up training volume for one more week before implementing a taper and peaking phase of its own. Feeling comfortable moving fast and staying relaxed is key to peak-racing performance (see V2 alt video). All peaking plans will begin to incorporate high intensity intervals (such as this weeks L4 pyramid) but if your local temps are too cold you might consider rescheduling intervals. (see tips for training in cold weather).
