Week 30

Welcome to week 30 of the training year! Take some time to congratulate yourself on how far you have come and all the hard work you have accomplish! This week we continue to focus on easy distance training, threshold intervals, and take a small step back in training hours before next week's BIG thanksgiving volume.

We start off the week with some DP and single stick hill repetitions. These can be done on rollerskis or snow on a gradual uphill. Try to keep heart rates in the L1-L2 range while working on strong uphill poling technique to build specific strength.  As shoulder season continues make sure to adjust your training as needed. If you have transitioned to snow already be mindful of your L1 easy distance pacing. It can be easy to creep up into L2 too much during the first few weeks on-snow. Doing speed on snow? We recommend stepping back the intensity to 80% speeds (similar to what we did at the beginning of the training year) to help skiers prioritize technique over max velocity.
